Falkirk Wheel to Roughcastle Walking Tour

Quintus is available to lead tours to the Antonine Wall during the main tourist season (April to September inclusive). The tour will begin at The Falkirk Wheel with a quick briefing and then proceed to Roughcastle Roman Fort. While no stone remains are visible, Roughcastle has the best preserved earthworks of any fort site on the Antonine Wall, allowing for a complete outline of the fort boundaries to be appreciated, as well as a very impressive section of the ajoining Antonine Wall ditch (vallum) on the north side. The tour will last approximately 2 hours which includes the march up and down to the fort area, and a 1 hour lively interpretation of the site by Quintus in full military gear.

Important information about the tour
